The King’s Speech took place earlier today. This marked the opening of a new session of Parliament and saw King Charles read a speech prepared for him by the Government. It outlined Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s proposed agenda for the period until the next election, although was light on legislation and seems to have been received with a shrug by most of Westminster.

Given that China-interested politicians, activists and lobbying companies will be sifting through all of the output, it’s worth examining potentially notable Bills and what we would suggest looking out for.
